Kenex - Environmental Projects

Environmental Modelling Projects

Kenex has been involved with modelling environmental projects for the past five years and has several exciting projects currently underway in New Zealand and Australia.

Wind Energy Modelling Kenex have developed wind energy prospecting tools using spatial data modelling techniques that can help to locate ideal wind farm sites in New Zealand and other countries.
New Zealand Wine Modelling

The aim of the projects was to generate predictive models to identify areas that are ideal for growing good wine producing grapes using existing vineyards as a guide.

NZ Powelliphanta Snail Habitat Modelling Kenex is currently modelling possible habitat locations for the rare Powelliphanta land snail found in the alpine regions of the west coast of the South Island in New Zealand.
Alpine Hoplodactylus Gecko Habitat Modelling Kenex is also modelling possible habitat locations for a group of native and recently discovered Hoplodactylus alpine geckos in the South Island of New Zealand.
Geothermal Energy Modelling Geothermal modelling has been completed at a state wide scale in the Northern Territory of Australia allowing us to target regions for more detailed modelling and ground based research.
