Senior Exploration
Geologist
Sally has a long history in the mineral exploration industry in Australia and New Zealand. Though specialising in gold exploration (and deep directional diamond drilling), she has experience in many other mineral commodities including coal, mineral sands, volcanogenic massive sulfides and kommatiite Nickel.
Outside of work, she works hard at helping to raise a small boy and enjoys sea-kayaking, tramping and traditional hand crafts. She is a very part time Masters student working with shallow marine seismic profiles and post-Hawean glacial sediments off Jackson's Bay, South Island, NZ
Experience:
- Twenty-five years in the mineral exploration industry
- “Grass-roots” exploration through to resource delineation and modelling
- Managing exploration teams in remote locations
- Design and management of exploration programmes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science with honours from Otago University, graduated 1985
- Completed various courses and training programmes in the application of GIS, geological mapping and resource estimation software.
Job Role at Kenex:
- Assisting clients to establish new mineral ventures through analysis of GIS generated exploration targets
- Managing and marketing Kenex modelling targets
- Managing NZPM statutory requirements for clients
- Mentoring students and new Kenex employees
- Collection and collation of GIS data from mineral reports
